What is the difference between an SAE and a CFN (Digital Safe) ?

The CFN is a component of the SAE. When integrated into an SAE, it is referred to as a CCFN.

The set of mechanisms for integrity, durability, and security is ensured by the SAE.
The CFN, on the other hand, typically handles only the processes of communicability and traceability.

The CFN therefore does not support most of the standard functionalities of an SAE, such as:

  • The freezing of archives
  • The management of the lifecycle
  • Sealing and proof mechanisms
