Arclib prepares for its HDS V2 certification in 2026: an EAS dedicated to the healthcare sector

Arclib, the Monegasque Electronic Archiving Dystem (EAS), is actively working toward obtaining HDS V2 (Health Data Hosting) certification in 2026, a crucial step for hosting sensitive medical data. As Arclib is not yet HDS V2 certified, it is not subject to the May 16, 2026 deadline, which applies only to existing certifications due for renewal. This upcoming certification will position Arclib as a key player in e-health, ensuring compliance and trust.

HDS V2 context

The HDS certification is mandatory for hosting health data in France. Its version 2.0, more demanding in terms of security and digital sovereignty, requires renewal by May 16, 2026, with no extension possible. Arclib, currently seeking its first certification, directly aims to comply with this updated framework for its IT outsourcing and archiving operations.

Current certifications

Already ISO 27001 certified for information security management, Arclib also complies with NF Z42-013 and NF 461 standards, ensuring integrity and evidential value of archives. As a PSCo recognized by the AMSN in Monaco, Arclib benefits from a presumption of legal authenticity, reinforcing evidential reliability before courts and shifting the burden of proof in case of dispute.

Preparations for HDS V2

Arclib is enhancing its technical infrastructure with full end-to-end data encryption, redundant storage across multiple remote data centers, secure CPS authentication, continuous 24/7 availability, and compatibility with the Shared Medical Record (DMP). Specialized health sector risk analyses, adapted workflows, and preparatory audits emphasize compliance with GDPR and medical confidentiality. The goal is to achieve HDS V2 certification in 2026, validated through a certification audit aligned with Arclib’s ISO 27001 framework.

Benefits for healthcare

With HDS V2 certification, Arclib will be able to archive medical records while preserving a complete trace of each action over decades, ensuring documents remain immutable and always accessible.
The HDS V2 standard offers healthcare organizations strengthened protection for sensitive data through enhanced security, traceability, and sovereignty requirements. It guarantees high availability, incident management, and business continuity, reducing risks of data loss or breaches.
By enforcing transparency, HDS V2 strengthens cyber resilience against threats. For healthcare institutions, this translates into smoother collaboration and real added value throughout the patient journey.

Looking ahead to 2026

Arclib’s HDS V2 certification is planned for 2026, aligned with ISO 14641 and reinforced compliance requirements.
